The specific magnetic circuit is designed and can guarantee the maximum holding force, usually several times' stronger than magnets themselves, and usually the metal housing is machined a little higher than inside magnet in order to protect the inside magnet from damage when it attached on metallic surface. There is usually Nickel coating or Zinc coating for these pot magnets to be against rust.
