A group of Baltimore magnet fishers pulled multiple guns out of the Patapsco River.

Although they're not surprised to find the weapons, they said they're glad to get them out of the water and to police.

Every week, the group stops by the Fells Point Pier and throws a massive magnet into the water.

"I've been doing it for about the last month and a half, and it's kind of blown up," the organizer said. "I decided to start hosting some meets on Thursday nights in Fells Point, and we've had people come out, and next thing you know, we're finding all sorts of really cool items."

On Thursday, the group pulled out two guns, a Hi-Point and a disassembled Glock 26.

"Honestly it's like, 'OK, just another one. We've already gotten one before.' So now, we're up to three in the last month, and that's pretty insane," the organizer said.

"I'm sitting there, I'm pulling it up and I thought I had something maybe a little bit bigger than a bolt, and my buddy looks at me and goes, 'You have it.' So, I pulled it up and there it was, it was a Hi-Point," said one of a couple dozen people who came out that evening.

The group has pulled all kinds of metal from the water before, but it was something different to find two guns in one night.

"As soon as it happened, I looked at it, and I was just dumbfounded," a participant said. "Immediately, I called over and I was like, 'Call them back. We have another.'"

A couple days later, they were back at it again, even pulling a scooter from the harbor water within minutes -- it's one of a couple dozen they've recovered.

The organizer said he plans to stick to magnet fishing and hopes more Baltimoreans will join him.

"At the end of the day, we just want to help out the city of Baltimore the best we can -- not just trash removal, but public safety," the organizer said.

The organizer said police now have the weapons that came from the water.
